Although the company does produce laptops, which it then offers to the general public, it is best known for selling bare-bones chassis to other businesses, which those businesses then use to construct and brand their machines. It is common for smaller boutique companies, such as Sager, Origin PC, Falcon Northwest, and even occasionally larger, more well-known brands, to feature designs by brand. More explanation is available on the clevo nh70.
The internal slides
The internal slides leaked on the Chinese forum Saraba1st reveal some impressive specifications for the upcoming 17-inch X170 gaming laptops. These specifications include a redesigned chassis with improved airflow, larger speakers, slimmer bezel displays, RGB lighting, upgraded cooling systems that support the latest 10-core-20-thread desktop-grade Comet Lake-S CPUs, and support for USB 3.2 Gen 2×2.

The Chinese online community Saraba1st has recently been the source of several new leaks that point to the impending release of updated Clevo gaming notebooks powered by the new Comet Lake-S desktop-grade CPUs scheduled to be introduced this spring. Internal slides demonstrating all of the new features of the upcoming X170 laptops compared to the older P7xx-series were obtained by user Liaojings1, and it appears that Clevo is finally ready to update their 2-year-old designs to compete with those of Dell / Alienware and MSI.
The desktop-level CPUs
As a result of the fact that these gaming laptops attempt to pack desktop-level CPUs into laptop enclosures, the first improvements that we observe are obviously on the chassis side. Therefore, the exhaust grills on the rear of the new X170 cases are larger. Also, as a result of the reworking of the casing, it improved the sound system by adding stereo speakers and a woofer with a greater output. The images of the chassis that have been released also show RGB lighting on the back and underneath it.
The displays
The next area to be discussed is the display, and it would appear that it is finally incorporating displays with narrow bezels. Although the aesthetics of these displays with narrow bezels are different from everyone’s taste, we cannot dispute the benefits they bring to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the ability to fit larger screens into smaller cases. The internal slide indicates that the 17.3-inch display will support 4K resolutions, 144 Hz refresh rates, and G-SYNC. Additionally, the screen will have an 83% screen-to-body ratio.
Incorporate generation
The new X107-series will incorporate generation 10 Comet Lake-S central processing units with a maximum of 10 cores and 20 threads and a thermal design power (TDP) of 125 watts. These more powerful components also require a redesigned cooling system, and the X170 receives an improved 11-heatpipe arrangement that can manage a total of 340 W TDP. Six heat pipes are dedicated to the GPU. The remaining five are dedicated to the CPU. In addition to that, there are two primary anti-dust blowers and four smaller air vents. There is no information regarding the GPU choices, but it is reasonable to assume that it will offer all of the updated RTX 2000 laptop models Nvidia will soon introduce. Last but not least, the USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 ports with a total bandwidth of 20 Gbps will be supported by the X170 notebooks when they are released later this year.
